Eyes are the first end perception analyzer for any individuals and one of the major organs for feeling the beauty of the nature. Eyes are the body camera and along with the vision provision, it also provides depth perception and contributes to the balance. To recognize all the functions of the eyes there are multiple components responsible which includes rods, cones, retina and even the lens. As we have described eyes like an camera. Its distinctive feature allows for a sharp and clear focus. The eye is recognized as a smaller part of the vestibular system and is important to maintain the balance system of the body.
Eyes are responsible for providing information to the brain about where the body appears in relation to the horizon. In case of Loss of vision there can be alteration in the balance. This is quickly tested by standing on one leg with eyes open and eyes closed. As soon as the eyes are closed, balance becomes more difficult. There are many parts of the eyes and each and every part of the eyes has their various functions one of which is to produce tears. Now there are three more parts which is present in the tear system which includes the glands responsible for making the tear also called lachrymal gland. The next important part is the opening which lets the tears flow out of eyes and the ducts inside the nose that tears drain through.
Now to take care this critical part of the body there is a specific unit called the ophthalmology department. In case of any eye defects ophthalmologist is a medical or osteopathic doctor who will take care of eyes and vision care. There is other department also which is equally responsible to take care of initial stages of eyes defection which includes optometrists and opticians. There are many ophthalmologists who are also involved in scientific research on the causes and cures for eye diseases and vision disorders.
